The environment of human beings has been subject to the threats posed by global energy shortage,aggravating environmental pollution,and climate warming.Currently,solar energy has gradually become familiar to us as a premium novel clean energy.After years of rapid development,the photovoltaic power generation industry of China has developed a complete industry chain and large-scale operations.However,the increasingly tight industry policies have been reducing the profits of photovoltaic power generation enterprises.With “Internet service at a fair price”,the technologies of the photovoltaic power generation industry have been constantly evolving and the costs have been decreasing,resulting in fiercer competitions with traditional energy enterprises in terms of cost,technology and scale.Therefore,it is imperative for local state-owned enterprises to strategically figure out the way of utilizing their regional and resource advantages to stand out in the highly competitive market.With the photovoltaic power generation business of IMEEI(Inner Mongolia Energy Engineering Investment Group)as the object of study,this paper conducts studies by referring to corporate strategic management theory and competitive strategy theory.First,it reviews the current development of IMEEI's photovoltaic power generation before listing its major issues in the development process.Secondly,it is based on PEST analytical method and the five-force model to analyze the macro-environment and the industry environment,followed by a summary of the opportunities and threats in its development.Meanwhile,a contrastive analysis is done to analyze the resource capacity and condition of IMEEI's photovoltaic power generation business,alongside an indication of its advantages and disadvantages.Based on the SWOT analytical matrix,it is suggested that IMEEI should adopt a general development strategy and a cost-leadership competitive strategy with SO as the primary strategy and ST as the secondary strategy.The cost could be reduced by integrating the whole industry chain,lowering the “discarding rate”,launching concentrated supervision and separation of shipment and inspection,and cleaning components and weeding out the photovoltaic area.Lastly,it proposes seven aspects,including institutional guarantee,talent guarantee,and capital guarantee,to ensure an implementation guarantee for the competitive strategy of IMEEI's solar photovoltaic power generation business.The study aims to provide strategic guidance to the healthy and sustainable development of IMEEI's solar photovoltaic power generation business.While enabling an enterprise to win competitive advantages,it also provides guidance and reference to all enterprises engaging in the industry of solar photovoltaic power generation business.
