The Impact Of The Natural Forest Protection Project On The Forest Health Level In Shuangfeng Forest Area

Forest ecosystem health assessment is an important means of judging forest status.The results can provide scientific basis for formulating forest protection countermeasures,and have important guiding role and higher practical significance for improving the level of sustainable forest management.The purpose of this study is to analyze the forest health level in different years after the implementation of the natural forest protection project,evaluate the implementation effect of the project,and provide scientific theoretical basis and basic data support for the follow-up implementation and supervision of the project.In this study,the forest health status of Shuangfeng Forestry Bureau in the early,middle and present stages of the implementation of the natural protection project was systematically studied and evaluated by using the early secondary survey data and the current field survey data,using the single index evaluation method and the comprehensive index evaluation method.Firstly,the single-index evaluation method was used to evaluate the forest health status.It was found that all the evaluation indicators had a significant increasing trend since the implementation of the natural protection project,indicating that the forest health status was constantly improving,and the effect of the implementation of the natural protection project was conducive to the restoration and improvement of the forest ecosystem.Secondly,the forest health status was assessed by comprehensive index evaluation method.It was found that the forest was seriously damaged and unhealthy in the early years of 2000 because of the prohibition of cutting.With the implementation of the natural protection project,the forest began to recover,and the forest returned to sub-health in 2009.After more than ten years,the forest returned to health in 2017.However,it still has not reached the state of high-quality health,indicating that the natural protection project has made great achievements,but it is still necessary to continue to strengthen the supervision of forest management and promote forest health recovery.Thirdly,the natural protection project is an important forest management measure in China.Since its full implementation in 2000,great achievements have been made in promoting the healthy development of China's forests.It is helpful for the transformation of forest functions from economic resources to ecological services and for the long-term development of China's forests.In this study,quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the impact of the implementation of the natural protection project on forest health in the past decade,confirmed the important role of natural protection project on forest sustainable development.Although the selection of evaluation indicators is typical and representative,but the evaluation indicators are relatively few,may be incomplete evaluation of forest ecosystem Therefore,in the future research,more evaluation indicators need to be considered,to establish a more comprehensive evaluation system.Only in this way can the effect of the natural protection project be more comprehensive evaluation.
