With the rapid development of Internet and e-commerce,online shopping has gradually become the major shopping mode of consumers nowadays.Facing the challenges such as loss of consumers,diversified consumption and multiple consumption channels,as well as the structural problems such as difficulties in attracting investment and long period for investment return,shopping malls are on the decline while their business pressure is steadily on the increase.In face of the winter of the physical retail industry,how to "attract" consumers into the malls and "keep"the consumers at the same time has become the common goal of traditional business spaces in this tough environment.Various means can be used to achieve this goal,and the application of"culture and arts" is one of them:In recent years,with the vigorous development of the culture and arts industry,rich and colorful cultural and artistic activities has become the priority for leisure class,white-collar workers,middle class and office workers to spend time,find common interests and enhance their cultural literacy during weekends,and going to art museums,visiting exhibitions and attending lectures,workshops and book clubs are becoming other cultural consumption choices other than going to cinemas to watch blockbusters.It is a strategy for the retail business to integrate arts,while the infiltration of arts into the shopping spaces is an irresistible trend.There is no longer clear distinction between them:the shopping spaces,when clad in fine clothes of art,are suddenly changed from a place of trade into an experience space with rich functions;while the arts,when infiltrated with the commercial power,attract a wider users and consumer groups,and expand the audience group of arts in various angles.When we see the people standing in a long queue to wait for their numbers to attend the Monet exhibition at Shanghai K11,we can know the importance of their combination.Various master arts exhibitions such as Picasso,Dali and Pop Art exhibitions will also be held in shopping centers.Cultural arts and shopping centers are no longer two independent units,and their positive integration and interaction has become the main trend of the development nowadays.This paper analyzes the real cases of integrated development of contemporary arts and shopping malls through investigation and research.From the aspects of the current social and economic environment,people's consumption demands as well as the characteristics and requirements of artistic and commercial spaces,this paper suggests that distinctive modern touch and consumption characteristics are featured by the integration of shopping malls and cultural arts,which not only provides the public with more vivid shopping experience,but also improves the economic results of the physical business entities.However,at the same time,we must pay attention to the local conditions and adopt the methods of integration which is really suitable to your situation.On the basis of the status quo of the combination of domestic commercial spaces and arts,the writer seeks,through on-the-spot investigation and data analysis,a more creative and feasible integration method which can not only injects new energy into the development of shopping centers but also opens up a new channel for mixing contemporary arts genuinely into people's lives,and the writer hopes that this paper could provide some new thoughts to exhibition organizers and relevant art workers.In the investigation,6 representative shopping malls in 4 cities were visited,1000 photos were taken and 5 interviews with relevant personnel were recorded.
