The Rhetoric Research On The Set Sentences Of Yangzhou Famous Couplets

The cento rhetoric,is a common form of literary creation in ancient times and also an overt use of quotation rhetoric.In ancient times,there were few systematic discussions on the cento rhetoric.It was not until the middle of the last century that the chapters and books which specially addressed the cento rhetoric began to appear.At the same time,there are few studies on cento couplets.Furthermore,the existing researches direction mostly focus on the cento poetry.Meanwhile,as couplets is a unique form of Chinese literature,academic researches have always concentrated on their cultural and literary meanings,and paied little attention to their linguistic aspect.Therefore,in order to explore the relevant features of cento couplets,to explore a new path of the study of the cento rhetoric and couplets,and to give a new evaluation of the cento rhetoric,this article classifies the 194 cento couplets in Yangzhou Scenic Spots Couplets,and uses modern linguistic theories to analyze and explain them.This article contains three parts.The first part is an introduction.This part mainly defines the cento rhetoric,introduces the current research status of the cento rhetoric,reviews the origin and development of couplets,summarizes the characteristics and types of couplets,makes an account of couplets in Yangzhou scenic spots and their research status,clarifies the research significance and research methods of this article.The second part is the body that has four chapters.On the basis of the cento rhetoric methods of the cento poetry in Ming Dynasty by Zong Tinghu and Li Jinglin,and according to whether the source language content is changed,the first chapter divides the cento rhetoric methods of the 194 cento couplets in Yangzhou Scenic Spots Couplets into two categories:direct integration and words variation.Meanwhile,direct integration can be subdivided into three categories:both upstream and downstream are from the same place,the upstream and downstream are from different places,combination of integration and creation.Words variation can be also subdivided into three categories:intercepting the original sentence,combination of integration and interception,combination of interception and creation.Learning from Langacker's definition of cognitive reference points,the second chapter analyzes the source language reference points of the cento couplets in Yangzhou scenic spots from the angles of source language reference category,the source language creation time,the source language author and the source language content.The third chapter summarizes the original power of cento couplets from the point of cento rhetoric,source language meaning,national cultural psychology and cognition acceptance.At the same time,this chapter sums up the unique factors of the style of the times and geographical location in the creation of the cento couplets in Yangzhou scenic spots.The fourth chapter uses the linguistic focus theory and aesthetic defamiliarization theory to explain the focus highlighting effect,defamiliarization effect and scenery expressing effect of the cento couplets.And it also gives a positive judgment to the cento rhetoric basing on the cento couplets in Yangzhou scenic spots.The third part is the conclusion.It concludes that the cento rhetoric methods of couplets in Yangzhou scenic spots are various,the source language reference categories are rich,the dependent factors are multiple,and the expression effects are outstanding.In summary,this article hopes to contribute a little bit to the research in the field of cento rhetoric by completely statistical analysis of 194 cento couplets in Yangzhou Scenic Spots Couplets.
