The Application Of Chinese Character Graphics In The Design Of City Signs

With the rapid development of the city,more and more city logo are appearing in the public view.As a symbol of the city,the city logo conveys the humanistic connotation of the city through visual language and Show personality image of the city.Chinese characters are the carrier of Chinese culture,they are themselves symbolic systems of representation and ideology.Since ancient times,they have had very close intrinsic links with signs.Make the Chinese characters used in city logo design,using culturally rich Chinese characters to express the image of the city and achieving the combination of "character" "graph" and "meaning" to reflect the Chinese urban spirit.The paper takes the Chinese character's thinking of making words as the starting point to discusses the application methods of applying Chinese characters to the city logo design,and implements the design of the logos of some cities in Shandong Province.First of all,through the analysis of the origin of Chinese characters,to understand the character-building thinking of Chinese characters,their phenotypic and ideographic characteristics;secondly,based on the Chinese character-building thinking and the art form of Chinese characters as the fundamental,combined with case studies,summarized the characters graphical way in the city logo design.In the end,through the literature review,field visits,etc.,to understand the city's regional characteristics and cultural characteristics,get the idea of city logo design,and propose the design scheme.Thesis' s research attempts to provide certain theoretical references and innovative design methods for city logo design through creative design.
