Research On The Four Great Families Of The Eastern Jin Dynasty Wang Yuhuan Xie Based On Documents

During the Eastern Jin Dynasty,the force of powerful families,represented by Wang,Yu,Huan,Xie four families,operated with imperial power.There is no real power in the hands of the Sima royal family,but only as a symbol of the authority of the emperor.Some representatives of the four families actually master the power of politics and military affairs.Therefore,Wang,Yu,huan,Xie four families is one of the most representative and typical groups in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.As an important tool for the operation of chinese ancient society,the documents can help us know more deeply about the four families and the features of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.We can see so much from their written documents:the special form of the aristocratic politics;family customs and family instructions of the four big families,which was social benchmark;the contribution made by four families about social economy,education and temporary stabilization;the transformation of gentry culture and ideology brought by talking about metaphysics and the Buddhism.In the past,scholars usually studied the historical events related to the four families in the Eastern Jin Dynasty through historical records.I hope to find out a relatively new entry point for studying the four families by means of the documents written by them.The thesis "the study of Wang,Yu,huan,Xie four families during the Eastern Jin dynasty based on documents" contains two-way exploration:on the one hand,on the basis of the statistics,analyse and induce the overview and characteristics of the four families' documents;on the other hand,study on documents,come to relatively new conclusions about political and cultural thoughts and the contribution made for society of the four families.
