Research On The Quantitative Overlapping Construction "one A One A"

Construction "one A one A" is composed of constant numeral "one" and variable measure word "A",and it's formed by the overlapping of structure "one A".This thesis analyzed the feature of syntax,semantics,and pragmatics from the perspective of construction grammar.Meanwhile,the thesis also contracted the similarity and difference between construction "one A one A" and other similar constructions.From searching CCL corpus,we found 313 measure words can enter construction "one A one A".The measure word can be a noun measure word and a verb measure word,and more noun measure word can enter the construction."one A one A" has strong ability to be syntactic components,like subject,predicate,object,attributive,adverbial,complement and appositive,especially adverbial and attributive.According to the feature of overlapping,the thesis regarded the center meaning of the construction of "the same object or event within a certain space or time range".In different contexts,the "one A one A" structure extends different meaning variants.When the "one A one A" as a subject or an appositive,the constructions has extended universality "each";When "one A one A" as a predicate,object,attributive or complement,the construction usually means "a number of';When "one A one A" as adverbial,it means "one by one".The effect of the pragmatic expression of "one A and one A" is to reflect the beauty of rhythm and the degree of individuality.The similarity between "one A one A" construction and other constructions are:in form,"one A one A" and other similar constructions are overlapping structure;in function,three constructions has strong ability as syntactic components;in semantic,three constructions have same center meaning and several variants.Three constructions'difference are:in form,double syllable measure words can't enter the"one AA" construction,but they can enter "one A one A" construction and "one A and one A" construction;in function,three constructions have different ability to act as syntactic components;in semantics,three constructions are different from discrete,order and subjectivity.
