Tibetan is the most important communication tool and cultural carrier in the Tibetan area.Tibetan-Chinese bilingual translation now is not only required in official documents,announcements and publications like "Tibet Daily",but also the signs and traffic guides in public spaces,such as schools and hospitals.In addition,the bilingual teaching in Tibetan schools,Legal documents and case trials in judicial proceedings are all calling for Tibetan-Chinese translation.With the rapid popularization of information technology in the whole society,the demand for information exchange between the Tibetan areas and the outside world has grown geometrically.Thus the talk to narrow the huge Tibetan-Chinese talent gap is louder and louder.The traditional Tibetan-Chinese translation teaching follows the "teacher center" model of "theory-exercise-teaching".The courses are often about traditional literary translation,lacking of emphasis on applied texts' translation and without relevant in translation technology.However,modern translation projects features in multimedia content,heavy tasks,and high quality requirements.It can not rely on the traditional purely artificially driven model and single-background limited translators any more.Modern translation projects are diverse from languages to applications.Besides of translators,its resources include supporters such as reviewers,typesetting,quality inspection,and editors.Therefore,teamwork is more necessary for the more complicated projects,in addition to bilingual skills and mastering translation technology tools,employers also require translators to be skilled in the processes of translation projects,as well as teamwork and management capabilities.In order to satisfy the increasingly demand of Tibetan-Chinese translation.Some ethnic institutions tied reformation in translation instruction aiming at cultivating modern application-oriented translation talents.But the CAT tools on the market are mainly for major languages over the world.CAT tools for minority languages do not exit yet.So it becomes hard for schools for nationalities to introduce real translation project to class.To solve that,this paper has a research on the CAT prototype system for Tibetan-Chinese translation project teaching.The main work are listed as following:Firstly,the article brings the concept of computer-based collaborative translation project into Chinese-Tibetan bilingual translation classes.Compared with traditional teaching model,it takes in modernly processed management.Both the teacher and students will join the translation project,playing specific roles like customer,manager,translators and revisers.The teacher is not only a traditional guider in class,but also a professional translator.Students find their own position in the group collaboration and develop translation skills,practical tool operation and teamwork ability in the practice.Second,the sentence boundary division and the sentence similarity calculation are a bit improved.Since the inflection of Tibetan more complicated,it is impossible to distinguish its boundary.Although Tibetan language information processing has made great progress in recent years,there is relatively rare resources that can really be used for reference.Therefore,the paper makes some improvements in algorithm in which the character of Tibetan and the part of speech are more considered.On these basis,the paper designs and implements a CAT prototype system for Tibetan-Chinese translation project teaching.It serves the whole teaching procedures from project setting and distribution to learning effects evaluation.As the translation memory's accumulation from zero continually,it offers better and better assist to translators.Totally speaking,the system covers term-recognition,hyper translation,machine translation and text export.With easy operation and practical help,it will be a good choice for project-based translation teaching.
