Chinese learners often face a difficulty when studying a Chinese idiom because of its own uniqueness.Since the grammatical context of Chinese idi om is different from basic vocabulary and contains relatively profound message,it can be utilized in multiple ways during the learning process.Due to its high level of difficulty,studying a Chinese idiom is suitable for mid-high level learners and makes it hard for elementary level learners to feel the charm of it.In order to freely communicate in Chinese,learners must lay stress on studying vocabulary.A Chinese idiom has a special territory that has both grammatical and cultural characters.These elements must be studied by both high land elementary levels.This paper focuses on the deficiency of teaching a Chinese idiom and research/plan for the elementary level of Korean-Chinese learners to interestingly and meaningfully study a Chinese idiom.In order to present a meaningful learning method,this paper studies the concept,formal characteristic and value of a Chinese idiom.The list of a Chinese idiom is chosen based on the analysis of various data.Teaching plans like multimedia learning,story reading,pronunciation and a idiom learning,cultural learning are presented for idioms on the list.This paper tried to understand characteristics of the elementary level of Korean-Chinese learners first.When choosing the suitable list of Chinese idioms for them,considered similarities between Korean and Chinese idioms and the difficulties that they face when learning Chinese.Also,it considered which approaches can raise learners' interests and should be able to make them understand the cultural differences between two countries through learning a Chinese idiom.This research has practical significance in improving South Korean students' efficiency in studying Chinese idiom.It also helps South Korean students to study Chinese idiom in more efficient ways.
