The "5C" standard(Standards for Foreign Language: Learning in the 21 st Century)issued by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages in 1996 is the national foreign language curriculum standard of the United States,which plays an important role in the field of foreign language teaching in the United States,and has a vital guiding significance in teaching."5C" is the initial letter combination of the five English words:Communication,Culture,Connections,Comparison and Communities.It means that language learning should meet five these requirements.The "Performed Culture" approach based on the "5C" standard has great influence in American,North America and the whole teaching field of foreign language in West.The field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in China has not paid enough attention to the "Performed Culture" approach based on "5C" standard,and of which lacks relevant research.Based on the American "5C" education model,combined with the teaching of "Performed Culture",focusing on the real examples of class teaching,this paper summarizes and researches the main features of the "Performed Culture".This paper makes a comprehensive investigation on the application of "5C" standard to "Performed Culture " of Chinese teaching in the United States,and discuss the advantages and problems of "Performed Culture" teaching under the guidance of "5C" standard,on the basis of which,paper discusses the goals,objects and content of the application of "Performed Culture" teaching based on "5C" standard in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
