Preposition is an important category in Chinese grammar and a more complex part of speech.As a kind of function words,space-time prepositions have similar meanings and usages,and Chinese learners are prone to errors in the process of using them.Therefore,space-time prepositions have always been the focus and difficulty in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper chooses the space-time prepositions in the comprehensive series of textbooks “Developing Chinese”(primary and intermediate)as the object of study,and tries to summarize the usage rules of space-time prepositions and their arrangement and application in textbooks through theoretical research,as well as how to understand and teach space-time prepositions,and how to choose and collocate them for space-time prepositional phrases.The first chapter is based on the theory of “three planes”,which is the theoretical basis of this paper.Chapter two mainly discusses the selection restriction of space-time prepositions.We will choose the space-time prepositional phrases and the object and predicate verbs to carry out the selection restriction analysis.The third chapter is a statistical analysis of the arrangement of space-time prepositions in the comprehensive series of textbooks of “Outline” and “Developing Chinese”(primary and intermediate).Chapter four is about some examples of errors collected in teaching practice,and the types of errors are analyzed.The fifth chapter is based on the previous theoretical and practical analysis,we put forward some suggestions on the layout design of space-time prepositions and teaching Chinese as a foreign language in terms of textbooks and teaching methods.
