Seminar on The Development of Finance and Economics for The Independent State of Samoa of 2018 is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and approached by the School of International Culture and Education of Heilongjiang University.The practice report takes the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation of the "Chinese Customs and Culture" lecture as a research case.In this interpreting practice,there are three prominent interpretation problems.They are the misinterpretation of cultural concepts,the verbosity in interpretation and the lack of logic in interpretation.The reasons for the above three interpretation problems are mainly due to the author's lack of subject knowledge of culture concepts,insufficient understanding of the logic in Chinese text and insufficient English language proficiency.Through the second interpretation practice and self-assessment after the interpretation task,the author believes the above problems can be solved to a great extent through the application of consecutive interpreting skills,a comprehensive preparation and long-term interpretation training.The author hopes that this practice report can provide reference and experience for the consecutive interpretation work in the field of Chinese customs and culture communication,and contribute to the development of interpretation in this field.
