China has a long history and culture, and its cultural resources are extremely rich. However, the value of cultural relics and the protection of cultural relics are obviously quite asymmetrical.Especially when large outdoor cultural relics are not high in the concept and technology of original cultural relics protection, they are restricted by their immovability. It seems even worse. The stone carvings of the Six Dynasties in Nanjing are large outdoor cultural relics of great research value in China.Although they have already been included in the category of national cultural relics protection units, the situation is still very bad. Many stone carvings have been damaged by natural and human factors, and they are Nanjing cultural relics. The pain point of protection is also the focus of the application of emerging cultural relics protection technology. The emergence and development of digital technology provides a new way of thinking for the protection of cultural relics and cultural resources. The preservation, exhibition and dissemination of historical and cultural heritage through digital technology can be not limited to the preservation of time and space, and can be dynamic and interactive. The way of exhibition to attract people's participation and communication has greatly promoted the preservation of historical culture and the education of social quality. This thesis attempts to study the digital protection of the Nanjing Six Dynasties mausoleum as an example to promote the virtualization of the stone carvings of the Six Dynasties and to preserve the original artistic and cultural value in the process of digital inheritance and dissemination.
