The Revision And Application Of The Peer Forgiveness Scale

Forgiveness Scale is an important scale in the field of psychological measurement.The Peer Forgiveness Scale of this study was developed by Itsara Boonyarit in 2017.This study revised this scale.The researchers selected seven undergraduate institutions in universities in Jiangsu Province.1,030 people were obtained in norm samples.Three revisions were made to form the final version of Peer Forgiveness Scale.The results are as follows:1.Scale.The formal Peer Forgiveness Scale includes four dimensions:overcoming negative thoughts and affect towards the transgressor(ON);seeking to understand the transgressor's reasons(SR);fostering positive acts towards the transgressor(FP);belief in the benefits of forgiveness(BB).Each dimension includes 4-5 items,a total of 18 items,which are scored using the Likert 6-point scoring method.2.Reliability analysis.(1)Internal consistencyThe internal consistency of each dimension is between 0.740 and 0.917.The results show that the homogeneity of the revised dimensions of the Peer Relief Scale is good.(2)Retest reliabilityThe retest results of the subjects one week later showed that the retest reliability coefficients of the four dimensions were distributed between 0.741 and 0.943.Therefore,the revised Peer Forgiveness Questionnaire has good retest reliability.3.Validity analysis(1)Content validity:The scale has been revised for three times after the initial translation,with good content validity.(2)Structural validity?Exploratory factor analysis:The KMO value of the Peer Relief Scale is 0.924,and the four dimensions account for 61.747%of the total variation;?Confirmatoryfactor analysis:The GFI of the Peer Relief Scale is 0.883,the NFI is 0.902,and the CFI is 0.934.The RMSEA is 0.076.From the data results,the model fit is good.(3)Criterion validityThe Peer Forgiveness Questionnaire was significantly correlated with Well-being Scale and Interpersonal Circle Scale.4.Gender,urban and rural and professional norms have been established.5.Application(1)Relevance;There is a significant correlation between peer forgiveness and dialectical thinking,Big Five personality,and self-esteem.(2)Regression:Peer forgiveness has a predictive effect on Well-Being.Conclusion:The Peer Forgiveness Scale has good reliability and validity,and has preliminary application value.
