Chinese colloquial words refer to the new words which are popular in spoken language,dialect and other words with common literal meanings in every period of the history of Chinese vocabulary.Modern Chinese is an important period in the history of the development of dialectal and colloquial words,which inherits the Middle Ages and enlightens modern Chinese.Therefore,it is of great significance to select the dialect words in the vernacular literature of Shandong dialect background in Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object.The background vernacular literature of Shandong dialect in Ming and Qing Dynasties mainly refers to Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua,Xingshi Yinyuan Zhuan and Liao Zhai Liqu Collection.These vernacular words are not only an important part of modern Chinese,but also an important part of the whole history of Chinese vocabulary and even of Chinese history system.In recent decades,the colloquial words in Shandong dialect background vernacular literature in Ming and Qing Dynasties have attracted much attention from scholars and experts and made fruitful achievements in textual research and interpretation.However,due to its strong regional dialect,a large number of folk dialect and vulgar words were adopted in the book.Moreover,it is far from the author's time to clarify the meaning of the words,which often leads to inaccurate and unclear explanations in the book.The unclear dialect words still exist,which deserve our further study.Based on the research of predecessors and the collection of the Great Chinese Dictionary,this paper comprehensively uses the methods of textual research on Character,parallelism induction,inference meanings from sounds,seeking the meaning according to the text or different text,reference to dialects and exploring its etymology fifty-one colloquial words in Shandong dialect background vernacular literature of Ming and Qing Dynasties,which are "literal common but meaningful" or "literal obscure but meaningful".Thirty-six dialectal vulgar words such as "xij","Laojiao","Tuotuo" and "Zousheng" are attempted to supplement the explanation of word meanings,investigate their etymology from the perspective of the development history of Chinese vocabulary,seek the reasons for their formation and acquisition,and further explore the historical track of their evolution and development of word meanings;fifteen dialectal dictionaries such as "Liange","Zaoshi","Xixier","Kuang" and so on are lost or misinterpreted or misinterpreted in previous works.Those with unclear definitions put forward new ideas.Through the textual research on the colloquial words in the vernacular literature of Shandong dialect in Ming and Qing Dynasties,the author hopes to provide some valuable information for the compilation and revision of large-scale Chinese dictionaries and the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
