A Textual Research On The Edition Of "Old Things In Wulin"

Wu Lin Jiu Shi,one of Zhou Mi's historical notes,is valuable to philology,literature,and culture research for it drew a splendid picture of the peak of the Song Dynasty,and recorded Hangzhou,the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty,this city's landscape and customs of residents at that time.The recent researches overlook the philological value of this book while focus on its value in folkways,cultures and literary,which especially evident in the research concerning the versions,textual criticism,authentication and collection of this book.In order to study the spread and compilation of Wu Lin Jiu Shi in different dynasties,this paper compares the publishing era and editors among versions of this book in three parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the current researches about Wu Lin Jiu Shi accompany with the meaning,subject and methods of research.The main purpose of this section is to comb the existing researches and point out the innovation of this paper.There are four chapters in the next part.Chapter one focuses on the complication of Wu Lin Jiu Shi and its spread in the Yuan Dynasty,and concludes that carving copies in the Yuan Dynasty have two editions,which are six volumes edition and ten volumes handwriting edition.Then several releases of the book in the Ming Dynasty are introduced in the next chapter,which contains Songtingzuo edition,Chenke edition,Chenjirumiji edition,Gaojizhai edition,Shuofu edition and Jiguge edition,and they are published in six volumes or eleven volumes carving copy.Chapter three compares and analyzes every edition of Wu Lin Jiu Shi in the Qing Dynasty,which are Suyezhai edition,Zhibuzuzhai edition,and Siku edition,meanwhile,the best adjusted release,ten volumes was born in this era.In the last chapter,the versions in three dynasties above are classified into six volumes and ten volumes according to their origins,at the meantime,the spread and circulating features of every edition is induced based on the inheriting relationship among these them,by which found out that this book is featured to circulate both in gathered carving copy and single article copy.In the last part,all the editions of Wu Lin Jiu Shi are summarized according to time and origin on the basis of researches in formal parts,and the donation of Zhou Mi and his notes to historiography is also commented.
