| This translation text is selected from a popular health science book The Longevity Solution(Chapter 4-6).This book mainly introduces methods to improve metabolism and life span by simply changing the daily diet,and finally puts forward five steps to expand one's life.As popular science text should focus on its content and lay stress on conveying information,the author,guided by Hans Vermeer's Skopos Theory,analyses and summarizes the text from the lexical,syntactic and textual levels.And the case study mainly discusses the following aspects: the translation of modal verbs,the translation of non-restrictive relative clauses that is guided by the relative word “which”,and the adjustment and translation of the order of the sentence.It is hoped that the translation can be used as a reference for popular health science text translation and for professionals who study health and longevity. |
