Climate change has been affecting the global world increasingly.Human beings need to pay close attention to climate change, especially in some developing countries, for example,Nepal.Socio-Economic Issues of Climate Change: A Livelihood Analysis from Nepal is written by Luni Piya,Keshav Lall Maharjan and Niraj Prakash Joshi in 2018,which mainly tells how climate change affects a remote rural community called Chepang community in Nepal. The translation material is selected from the first two chapters of this book. The main contents of the first two chapters are: Climate Change and Livelihood Assets,Measuring Social Vulnerability to Climate Change,Approaches in Analyzing Adaptive Capacity and Impacts of Climate Change on Livelihood Trajectories. This translation material belongs to scientific texts, which contains a lot of restrictive attributive clauses. These restrictive attributive clauses reflect the rigorous logicality of the scientific text.So the translator chooses the restrictive attributive clauses as the study object of this report. In order to make the target text accurate and smooth, the translator uses Skopos Theory to guide the translation of the restrictive attributive clauses in the translating process.According to the grammatical functions the relative words play in the restrictive attributive clauses, the translator classifies the restrictive attributive clauses into four categories: the relative words as subject, the relative words as adverbial, the relative words as attribute and the relative words as object.Guided by the three rules of Skopos theory, the translator analyzes the attributive structures and finds out the proper translation strategies. This report is composed of six chapters.Chapter One provides the introduction of the source text, the translation task and the layout of the report.Chapter Two describes the translation processes, including pre-translation,while-translation,and post-translation.The third chapter introduces Skopos Theory and its three principles. The fourth chapter explains what restrictive attributive clause is and the characteristics of restrictive attributive clause. The fifth chapter puts forward some translation methods, including preposition, fusion, splitting and conversion, and illustrates them with examples from the translation practice. The sixth chapter is the summary, which points out some findings and presents the limitations of the translation practice.
