This paper explores the similarities and differences between the five facial features of Chinese and Kazakh idioms.Chinese is a Sino-Tibetan language and Kazakh belongs to Altaic group.It is proved,that there is a special element of language expression which is structurally stable-i.e.self-sufficient and concise in both Chinese and Kazakh language.In this paper,we collected 1416 Chinese idioms from the dictionary of Chinese idioms(Chinese Dictionary Publishing House)which are intended for describing five senses.We were also able to gather 854 Kazakh idioms in total that specify facial features with the help of"Kazakh idiom dictionary".This paper analyzes the structural types and semantic characteristics of the five basic facial expressions in Chinese and Kazakh idioms,and the cultural features of the apply of the five basic facial expressions in the Chinese-Kazakh idioms and summarizes the features and functions of the five-facial expressions in the Chinese-Kazakh idioms.
