Industrial production and the market economy have shaped today's consumer society. While the consumer era brings convenience to life, there are also many problems worth pondering-excessive goods and garbage are constantly piled around, environmental damage is intensified, and fetishism is rising.Through the background introduction and work exposition of Tim Eitel,a representative painter of contemporary Germany new leipzig, this paper explains his reflection and response to the consumer society. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first two chapters analyze and discuss the theme and creation background of Tim Eitel's works by explaining the current context of the times. The third chapter mainly puts forward the point that Tim Eitel's waste topics are reflective of the consumer society(the argument). The new generation of European artists no longer simply provides aesthetics in the traditional sense, but focuses more on the response and criticism of social phenomena. The content of this paper is limited to Tim Aitel's waste, and the image associated with waste: the works about the vagrants, the rubbish collectors(i.e.,the object of the study).Through the analysis of these works,we see that there are three main parts of Tim Aitel's reflection: the question of excessive consumption, concern for the lower marginal groups in the consumer society and the reflection on the symbiotic relationship between man and nature.Combining Baudrillard's ideological book "Consumer Society" and the knowledge of socio-economics(research methods),the full text not only explains Tim Aitel's paintings and artistic thinking, but also puts forward some tips and questions for our artistic creation on how to view the living state of people under the commercial mechanism today(the reason for the study). Finally, the fourth chapter is the conclusion. On the basis of the previous explanation, this paper summarizes the specific meaning of Tim eitel's waste series works on consumption reflection, and explains the significance of common reflection and the author's creative ideas(research conclusion and practice)in the era of globalization.
