Altruistic behavior is the highest form of prosocial behavior in all branches. It describes behavior that is completely beneficial to others, and it is also a sign of adolescent competence development in the field of social psychology.Attachment is a stable emotional connection formed between individuals throughout the whole life, which has existed since infancy. With the development of individuals, mother attachment, father attachment and partner attachment are gradually differentiated. Some studies have confirmed that individual attachment has a certain influence on their altruistic behavior.Empathy,as a psychological quality of individuals,is also the internal driving force of individual altruism. However, the relationship between attachment, empathy and altruism remains unclear.Guided by attachment theory and empathic altruism hypothesis, this study attempts to construct a mediating effect model to test the mediating effect of empathy between attachment and altruistic behavior. In this study,527 high school students were tested on the revised parental peer attachment scale,Chinese version of interpersonal response indicator scale and self-reported altruistic behavior scale to explore the relationship between altruistic behavior, attachment and empathy. The results show that :(1)there are significant gender differences in peer attachment of high school students, that is,the level of peer attachment of girls is higher than that of boys, and the same is true for empathy.(2)there is a significant difference in the demographic variable of class cadres, that is,the altruistic behavior of class cadres is significantly higher than that of non-class cadres.(3)there were significant grade differences in empathy and altruism, that is,empathy and altruism in grade1 were significantly higher than that in grade 2 and grade 3.(4)there is a significant positive correlation between altruistic behavior and parent-child attachment and peer attachment, and parent-child attachment and peer attachment can positively predict altruistic behavior. There was a significant positive correlation between empathy and altruism, and empathy could positively predict altruism.Parent-child attachment and peer attachment are positively correlated with empathy, both of which can positively predict empathy.(5)the analysis results of the simple mediation model show that parent-child attachment cannot indirectly affect individual altruistic behavior through empathy, and empathy partly mediates between peer attachment and altruistic behavior. The results of the chain mediation model show that in the chain mediation model of parent-childattachment affecting altruistic behavior, the chain mediation effect of peer attachment and altruistic behavior is significant. The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)attachment(parent-child and peer),empathy and altruism are significantly positively correlated; There was a significant positive correlation between attachment(parent-child and peer)and empathy.(2)attachment(parent-child and peer)and empathy can significantly positively predict altruistic behavior;Attachment(parent-child and peer)can significantly positively predict empathy.(3)empathy partly mediates between peer attachment and altruism.(4)peer attachment partly mediates between parent-child attachment and altruistic behavior.(5)peer attachment and empathy play a chain mediating role between parent-child attachment and altruistic behavior.
