Diary Text Translation Practice Report

As a popular literary genre,the diary is a kind of text of privacy,diversity.Among them,privacy is its most prominent feature;it is also the one which help people extinguish diary from autobiography,memoir,and travel notes and ensure the authenticity of the diary;thus the diary has its historical value.At present,there is less research on translating diaries into English in China.By analyzing the characteristics and difficulties of diary texts,it is a good opportunity to fill the gap.At the same time,by translating the diary of great historical value into English and present it to the international research,China's saying right in Tokyo Trial research will be greatly enhanced.By summarizing the translating Judge Mei Ru'ao's diaries into English,this report gradually comes into being.And by analyzing the characteristics of diaries and digging into the differences between Chinese and English,the corresponding translation methods are proposed to eliminate the differences between the two languages.At the same time,terminology translation is also the focus of this report.In discussing the differences between two thinking styles,the author analyzed the differences between Chinese and English expressions and found out how to translate run-on sentences and repeated vocabulary.In terms of the difference between two languages,the author analyzed the language characteristics of diary texts,proposed corresponding translation methods,and at the same time,by taking the similarities and differences between informal English and formal English into consideration,the previous translation was modified.When it comes to cultural differences,the author tried to find a proper way to translate the word"Jiqi"(??)which appeared in the article three times.The purpose of this paper is to discuss the translation methods of diary texts and the terms translation and management.I hope this report can inspire the later research in one way or another.
