Mythical Imagery And Contemporary Figure Painting Creation

Myth is a classic artistic theme in ancient Chinese literature and art.Painters of all ages have created different mythological images through various artistic means,thus forming the artistic aesthetic connotation of ancient myths.The author's topic is centered on the expression of mythological subjects in the creation of contemporary Chinese figure paintings.I hope to draw on the expression methods and visual forms of ancient mythological subjects to create new mythological images with contemporary aesthetic connotation,so as to explore in terms of modeling,composition and aesthetics.A new style of character painting.This article focuses on Chinese mythology.It starts with the study of Chinese mythology,searches related materials,finds the main theories and viewpoints of Chinese mythology research,and then studies the related art of mythology from the aspect of painting,and exemplifies painting works that reflect Chinese mythology.Finally,I combined my own creation,centered on mythological imagery combined with contemporary figure painting creation,and found the characteristics and interest of "Black Mirror Series" in the context creation and form expression.This article attempts to combine my own creative exploration in the contemporary art environment and the use of mythological images in contemporary art creation,to clarify that mythical creation today is not just a narrative,or a product of religious worship.Under the contemporary art system,he has a richer literary character and the spirit of the times,reflecting the connection with Chinese native culture and the aesthetic and intrinsic needs of contemporary people.My personal creation is based on the mythological images described in Shan Hai Jing.In this portrait painting,the author combines modern characters with mythical images.It takes myth as the source of inspiration,the soil that nurtures,and the modern characters as the main body to achieve the integration and unification of the two.It is an attempt to use this combination to make the creations allegorical,and to show the complex spiritual appearance of contemporary characters,increasing the magic color of creation creates a feeling of dislocation in time and space.
