Research On Guangzhou City Image In Movies From The Perspective Of Visual Rhetoric

In the era of image transformation,the medium presentation and image expression of city image have become an important way of city image building.After summarizing the research results of domestic and foreign experts and scholars on city image and visual rhetoric,and combining with the film visual rhetoric theory,this paper studies the image of Guangzhou City in the film from the four interrelated rhetorical mechanisms and rhetorical practice of visual rhetoric: symbol,metaphor,symbol and context.The paper divides Guangzhou image into three representative times: the revolutionary red zone with determination and progress,the melting pot full of energy and vitality and the modern metropolis filled with warmth.Then,the paper analyzes the graphic symbols with typical characteristics by choosing the character images,space,props,simultaneous sound and lyrics symbol and finds that these symbols have important ideographic and narrative functions in the construction of Guangzhou image in the film.Furthermore,the city culture and spirit of the yearning for freedom and peace,family culture,pragmatic quality and the symbol of women's independence of Guangzhou are deeply explored.Based on the theory of intertextuality,scene and cultural context,chapter five gradually establishes the interpretation rules of Guangzhou city image from the meaning of Guangzhou image,to the shaping of the cultural connotation of Guangzhou City to find the cultural image shared by the audience and Guangzhou city.At present,the city image of Guangzhou in the film is facing the problems of cultural symbol aphasia and the constraint of modern capital.Therefore,the filmmakers are suggested to closely follow the development of film technology and dig into the cultural core of Guangzhou,better combining the graphic symbols of Guangzhou image with the film narration,so as to tell the story of Guangzhou,and enhance the influence of urban culture.
