Based On The Application Research Of Chinese Traditional Festival Elements In Animation Design

As an emerging industry energetically fostered by the government,domestic animation contains infinite potentials and opportunities.In the 1920 s,the early stage of domestic animation,excellent works filled with national characteristics and cultures sprung up;in the middle stage,domestic animation developed slowly,which caused the situation that European and Japanese animation works occupied a considerable proportion in the market.However,there are deficient works representing excellent Chinese traditional cultures.Taking traditional festival cultures as the main research object,this subject digs the spiritual connotation behind festival elements,analyzes the application of traditional festival elements in the design of animation works and comprehensively researches the application of Chinese traditional festival elements in animation design by collecting the materials of Chinese traditional festivals and sorting out and summarizing the festival elements.This study aims to disseminate traditional festivals and cultures and endow Chinese animation with more national identification.Taking Chinese traditional festivals as the main research object and adopting street questionnaire survey and random interview method,this subject investigates the adolescent society's perception situation and emotional attitude toward the content and connotation of traditional festivals,digs the cultural connotation and spiritual strength contained in traditional festivals from the celebration festivals,origins and literary quotations,extracts and summarizes visual signs in traditional festivals,and researches the method of applying these spiritual connotations and visual signs into animation design.Meanwhile,through analyzing the Door Gods element in Little Door Gods,an animation film with the theme of traditional festivals,the advantages and disadvantages of applying traditional festival elements are discussed.Based on the above research results,the applicable methods and problems to be avoided of traditional festival elements in animation script,character design and scene design are discussed.
