Applied Study On Miao Visual Factors In Visual Image Design For Taijiang Sisters’ Festival

Culture plays an irreplaceable role in Economic and social development. Culture is the soul of an ethnic group, and it is the principal factor to continue an ethnic group. So the inheritance, protection and development of the ethnic culture are particularly important today. But due to the diversified social development and the impact of foreign culture, ethnic culture is slowly fading and disappearance in many areas. So it is imperative to protect the precious traditional ethnic culture. Traditional ethnic festivals are important content and forms of ethnic culture. Size and influence of traditional ethnic festivals are the important criterions to measure whether cultural force is powerful or not. As one of world intangible cultural heritages, the Tai Jiang Miao Sisters Festival is very unique for its Miao style in the history of the development of national culture, and it is a typical representative of minority traditional culture. There are many obstacles and problems in its development. Seeking to develop on the premise of the protection is an important part of this study. There are many ways for protection and development of Sisters Festival. In this thesis, the topic is investigated from a professional perspective of visual communication.Traditional ethnic festivals include colorful traditional ethnic arts, which is unique in packaging, promotion and form. Whether traditional ethnic culture or ethnic art images, they are conveyed by using vivid visual image and a strong visual effect. With the development of the times, rehabilitation and reconstruction a visual image design for Sisters Festival is an important channel to rich content and forms of traditional festivals, to enhance the overall artistic value, to promote Miao cultural protection and development, and to enhance awareness of the Miao ethnic people. Firstly, the origin, content and features of the Miao Sisters Festival are summarized, and the status of Sisters Festival is analyzed from the perspective of visual communication. Cultural elements and design elements of Tai Jiang Miao Sisters Festival, such as clothing, jewelry, architecture, text, totem, color features are analyzed. Finally, on the basis of analyzing the unique ethnic customs of Miao Sisters Festival, the modern visual communication research design elements are extracted. Combining modern visual communication design concept and modern design language forms, these design elements and patterns are fully utilized to visual identity design for Tai Jiang Miao Sisters Festival. Sisters Festival is packaged and related works are presented.
