Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao is an agricultural book written by Zhu Su of the Ming Dynasty, which specifically records famine plants. It is rich in agricultural vocabulary and contains a large number of plant nouns. Its corpus age is clear and the language is popular.Studying the vocabulary in Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao and examining the professional vocabulary and difficult words in it can enrich the study of modern Chinese vocabulary and help to improve the agricultural dictionary entries. The research work is mainly divided into the following parts:First, analyze the vocabulary characteristics of Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao.Its vocabularies are highly popular, mostly inherited from previous generations of literature, and mainly based on agricultural vocabulary. Most of the agricultural vocabularies are from the agricultural literature of the past dynasties, and a small part are the new agricultural vocabularies produced in the Ming Dynasty. These newly generated words generally appear only in the field of agronomy. The medical vocabularies are basically inherited from the medical books of the previous generation, and the meaning basically unchanged.Second,it summarizes the naming rules of the new plant words in Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao.In this book, there are nearly 400 new plant words, which are based on the Zheng Lei Pen Ts' ao.The naming justification of new plant words can be classified from shape, color, smell, time and space, function, and culture. The main features of the new plant words are as follows: mainly three-syllable words, and the reason for most of the three-syllable words is that most of the names of the new plants have epigenetic words;metaphors are widely used, and most plant names are named by means of metaphor;the naming of plants is based on a single rationale, and the name of the plant often reflects only one of the prominent features of the plant.Third,a comprehensive survey of plant synonyms in the book. There are a large number of plant allonyms recorded in Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao.Although these plant synonyms come into being in different times, the causes are basically the same. The generation of plant synonyms is mainly affected by the pronunciation, vocabulary, region, and naming angle.Through some case analysis of the plant synonyms in Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao,it is found that most of the plant synonyms are produced because of sound conversion, regional differences and different naming angles.Last, interpret the difficult words of Chiu Huang Pen Ts' ao.There are three main reasons for the difficulty of words: First, the meaning of words changes. With the development of the times, the meaning of words changes. The second is word phony, which uses words with the same pronunciation and different forms to make the meaning difficult to understand. The third is the influence of variants. Some words are rich in variants, they have different meanings but the same meaning.
