Since the reform and opening up,China has accelerated the transformation from traditional villages into modern ones,while problems also has emerged in this progress,many villages even showing a declining tendency for the lack of development vigor.Upon this situation,our government proposed the strategy of village rejuvenation on the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.To achieve the village rejuvenation,it is necessary to study the village-level governance: village director,leader of village.Good village governance requires responsible village leaders to achieve the transformation of villages with all villagers together.In recent years,there have been many studies on village governance from macro perspectives,while the analysis on village governance frommicro perspective is relatively weak.On the basis of a micro perspective on village governance,this study mainly uses Qualitative Research Method and Literature Research Method.Starting from the problems of the village director's leadership supply,this study deeply observed and researched the 26 samples from 7 villages,combining theories of leadership traits,leadership behaviors,contingency leadership,leadership alternative,and John Curt's leadership thought as its theoretical framework.Through in-depth collation and analysis of research materials and literature,it is found that the main problems of the village director's leadership supply are: firstly,somevillagedirectors lackintherisk-taking spirit of change,thesense of responsibility of the village director,the network of relationships,andthe resources are also relatively limited;secondly,somevillage directors have the problem of insufficient supply of supportive leadership and guidance-type leadership in the supply of leadership;thirdly,the problems of the village directors in the leadership process include: the vision of the village director.Inadequate supply,lack of joint villagers,and lack of necessary means to motivate villagers.The study also found that the situational factors that affect the leadership supply of village leaders mainly include four aspects.First,the situational factors of the leadership team include the aging of village committee members and the overall low cultural quality of village committee members;Villagers' situational factors,including the ageing and hollowing of the villagers,undermine the subordinate basis of leadership and the lack of motivation for the work of a few villagers;the third is the contextual factors of the village organization,including the “Uncollectivization” of the village economy to the village director.The test of mobilization power and “vote-based guidance” led to the lack of leadership of the village director and the modern rural culture of “advantageousness” has a substitution effect on the mobilization of the leader.Fourth,the influence of superior leaders is mainly reflected in the impact of the village party secretary,township and township policy restrictions,superior leadership and township government management mechanisms,which limit the leadership of the village director.Finally,on the basis of the research findings,the author puts forward suggestions for the path of the village chief's leadership promotion,stressing that: strengthening the leadership team building and cultivating outstanding leadership qualities;improving the leadership provision level during the village director's leadership;the village director should We will continue to strengthen the supply of supportive and guidance-type leadership;township leaders should also give village leaders more leadership support.
