Group Work Involves Applied Research On The Improvement Of Self-confidence Of The Children Of Migrant Workers

With the continuous development of China’s economy,the level of urbanization has deepened.More and more people choose to leave their hometown and land to work in the city.In this way,the number of foreign workers in China has continued to increase.For the sake of their children,their children will also live and study with their parents in the city,which will force them to face new living conditions.This is a great challenge to the psychological quality of the children of migrant workers.There are also many problems that will arise.In the face of new life and learning environments,they show timidity,fear of making friends with others,fear of expressing their own ideas,inferiority,anxiety,and so on.According to incomplete statistics,severe lack of self-confidence is the most prominent feature of children of foreign workers.It is urgent for them to improve their self-confidence if they want to better live and learn,adapt and integrate into urban life.Taking the G community of C City as an example,the author conducted an investigation and visit to the children of foreign migrant workers in the area after about February.In the end,12 children of foreign workers aged 6-18 were selected as the subjects of study.With the guidance of the theory of social work specialty,the group’s working methods are used to intervene in the problem of raising children’s self-confidence of migrant workers.In view of the problems faced by children of migrant workers,the author mainly carries out group activities from four aspects:ability to adapt to the new environment,positive self-expression,correct self-evaluation and independent thought.The author aims to help the children of migrant workers dare to show themselves in public through the intervention of group work,so that they can face the new life and learning environment with confidence.Better integrated into urban life,Like the children of other cities,have a good future.
