Large amount of content produced by traditional media organizations is free and widely disseminated on both Weibo and Bytedance platforms. But the same large-scale dissemination did not bring trouble to Weibo, but made today’s headlines a target of public criticism, and even made the latter a stake in the eyes of traditional media. This phenomenon arouses the author’s curiosity.Nowadays, the copyright issue of news works on the new media platform has gone beyond the narrow scope that originally only concerns the economic interests of copyright owners, but has extended to many fields, including industrial management, industrial economics, computer science and so on.The new technological environment makes the relationship between content producers, users and advertisers change dramatically. Therefore,in today’s technological environment, the importance of rethinking and researching the copyright of new media news works is self-evident.This paper will mainly focus on text analysis and case analysis, combining with specific cases,as well as "Bytedance" and "Weibo" two specific product forms,to explore the topic of the paper. Finally, the author draws the following conclusions:1.The reason why headlines are different from microblogs in the field of news content copyright is that in the process of news content dissemination, the source of news content is clear and clear, while in the process of headlines dissemination,it is difficult for users to distinguish the source of news content.2.The victims of copyright infringement of news works on new media platform are not only traditional media organizations, but also individual writers who should be protected but become the targets of traditional media organizations in the process.3.It is too difficult for individuals or single media to defend their rights. It is suggested that a collective copyright protection organization should be established as soon as possible to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of copyright owners with collective strength.
