Research On The Application Of Respite Service In Families Of Disabled Elderly People

The respite service is a service provided by social workers to alleviate the pressure of family care for clients.Recently,social work organizations in cities such as Shanghai,Hangzhou,and Shenzhen have successively carried out pilot work on respite services.The main targets of the pilot assistance include families with autism,families with mentally retarded families,and families with children with cerebral palsy.However,in the context of the growing problem of population aging,the increasing number of disabled elderly people,the shifting of family structure to miniaturization,and the increasing pressure of long-term care,communities and social workers in some cities have gradually included disabled families into the respite.The scope of the service object.Based on the theory of social support,this paper mainly uses the interview method and the participatory observation method.The research object is the disabled family in the F community of Yangzhou.First of all,the author understands the problems and needs of the disabled elderly.Secondly,the 'Oxygen' disabled elderly family respite service project of love is applied to the disabled elderly family.Because the problem of disabled elderly people is special,for this reason,the author used the method of case work to solve the problems of care for the environment,medical resources and social support for the disabled elderly.Then,through group activities,it was found that family caregivers had common problems in physical,psychological and social aspects.Therefore,the author decided to use group work methods to carry out help activities to help family caregivers solve problems.Finally,the application effect of the respite service is judged from the changes of family caregivers,satisfaction measurement and self-assessment.The results show that the application of this respite service in the F community is quite effective,but the effectiveness of the service is low due to the influence of traditional concepts,policy funds,professional development and some other factors in the practice process.These factors have led to a series of practical application dilemmas such as the difficulty in establishing professional relationships in respite services,the mismatch between service content and actual needs,the lack of support resources,and the low enthusiasm of staff.Combined with the reality of the F community,the author proposes optimization measures from the perspectives of the three main bodies of the government,the community,and the organization.The effectiveness of the application in the family.
