The proposal of realistic constructivism has indeed injected new vitality into the development of the theory of international relations. But the view of power of realistic constructivism lacks enough innovation.Barkin redefines the concept of coercive power and intersubjectivity in realistic constructivism, and then finds the similarities between the two core concepts.By proving that the Realism and Constructivism have the common social basis,Barkin simply combined the two core concepts and put forward the concept "power construction".However,he didn't demonstrate how power and norms transformed and ultimately constructed the behavior of actors in realist constructivism, nor did he answer the question of what the mechanism of such transformation was.Corresponding to the realistic constructivism proposed by American scholars, domestic scholars have raised the power constructivism, fully explained and deeply demonstrated how to construct and reconstruct the idea and norm of actors through the redefinition of social power and intersubjectivity.Gao Shangtao emphatically demonstrates the relationship between power and idea, norms, etc.he believes that the structure of power relations can create such relations like restriction, construction and causality. The structure of power relationship which can bind and control the behavior of actors, makes the norm become the code of conduct abode and identified by the actors, and finally reconstructs the behavior of the actors through shifting the restrictive norm into the constitutive norm.By combing Barkin's theory of realistic constructivism, this paper will point out the flaws of its theoretical content, and makes a critical analysis. Then it will borrow the analytical framework of power constructivism to solve the problems existing in the concept of power of Barkin reality constructivism.
