The violation of the law as a marriage prohibition system is reflected in the laws of all dynasties and generations. As the heyday of the ancient political, economic, and cultural development, the legal system of the Tang Dynasty was also very perfect. The law of marriage has provided comprehensive provisions for Violations. As one of the most influential classics in the history of Chinese law,"Tanglv Shuyi" enumerates eight marriages in violation of the law in detail, and uses them to explain the specific application in the form of "shu," more detailed notes on ancient books than notes. In terms of legal provisions, there are prohibitions of marriage across classes from the perspective of status, and prohibition of marriage between master and servant from the perspective of patriarchal etiquette. In terms of punishing crimes, there are both different penalties applicable to different identities, and a combination of criminal punishment and civil measures.Behind the perfection of the law in the Tang Dynasty, there are also the disadvantages of its era,and the problems of incomplete enforcement of the law also exist, but its profound impact on later dynasties still cannot be denied.
