Ten years ago,European right-wing populist parties were marginalized in European politics and did not receive much attention, but the rise of a new wave of European right-wing populist parties since 2010 has not only stirred up Europe, which had remained relatively stable for a long period of time, but also led a wave of populism across the globe.Right-wing populism has re-emerged in West Europe with specific socio-economic and political foundations. The most important of these are the long-term accumulation of globalized political and economic imbalances, which was intensified by the 2008 global economic crisis, the 2009 European debt crisis and the European refugee crisis outbreak in 2015.Against this background,European right-wing populist parties have achieved unprecedented success throughout European politics. However, scholars' research on western European right-wing populist parties has only stayed on its influence on the domestic political system, its foreign policy has received less attention.Based on this, this article will mainly analyze western European right-wing populist parties' foreign policy positions and take Italy's Lega as a case study.Based on the definition of right-wing populist parties, this article first comprehensively analyzes the reasons for the rise of right-wing populist parties in Western Europe in recent years from the perspective of supply and demand theory, and fully explains the decisive role played by economic and cultural factors. The rise of Western European right-wing populist parties at the same time means that they will be more active in foreign policy decision-making,then this article further analyzes the relationship between Western European right-wing populist parties with major international political actors, including the European Union, the United States,NATO,Russia and China, and the motivation behind its foreign policy stance. The study found that the main right-wing populist parties in Western Europe basically hold an anti-EU,anti-US,pro-Russian,and suspected of China position, but their foreign policy positions will change according to changes in their domestic election situation aiming to create favorable conditions for their elections with the ultimate goal of gaining political power. In addition, this article also believes that their foreign policy stance will produce a negative impact on EU integration, transatlantic military alliances and the entire liberal democracy. To a certain extent, the study of foreign policy positions of right-wing populist parties in western Europe has become increasingly important, both in reality and in theory.
