The past is never died.It lives in the present also affects the future.When the United States detonated the first atomic bomb in Japan in 1945,nuclear weapons have appeared in the human vision since then,and then the birth of nuclear weapons has had a profound impact on the world-thus entering the "nuclear era".After seeing the great destructive power of the atomic bomb,the world knows that it will face nuclear weapons and its threats in the future,and the security of the international community will be difficult to be guaranteed.Therefore,in the decades after 1945,through the joint efforts of all countries in the world,the world has reached a series of relevant international treaties and established some institutions,which together constitute the international nuclear non-proliferation system.Among them,the Treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons(NPT),signed on July 1,1968,is one of the important components,and the United States,as a catalyst,has made great efforts to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons One of the most important countries to sign the treaty was under the background of the cold war in the international community when it was signed,and the Johnson administration was in power in the United States at home.Therefore,this paper will study a series of issues from the signing of the Johnson administration and the Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons as the starting point.This thesis will be based on the declassified American foreign relations documents,President Lyndon Johnson's open letters,documents and other original materials,and combined with the research results of Chinese and foreign scholars on the issue of nuclear non-proliferation.This thesis will tried to sort out the materials and take the development and influence of nuclear taboos as the clue of the full text,to explain the following problems.First,sorting out the emergence,use and harm of nuclear weapons,and sort out the emergence of military conflicts and nuclear taboos during the cold war time.Second,analyzing the reasons why the Johnson Administration signed the NPT from many aspects.Third,sorting out the main contents of NPT and analyzing problem exist in this treaty.and trying find influence brought by this treat.In a word,the author not only hopes that through the study of the Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons during the Johnson administration period,the readers can have a deep understanding of the birth of the Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons,but also hope to help the readers to think deeply about the perfection of the contemporary nuclear non-proliferation system,related issues of nuclear nonproliferation and the thought of nuclear taboo.
