The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the middle and long term youth development plan(2016-2025),and put forward the goals and measures for the development of youth from ten fields.Among them,the psychological health field will effectively control the incidence of young mental health and improve the mental health counselling and service level of young people as one of the goals,and clearly demands the strengthening of the school.Mental health education guides young people to have self-confidence,positive psychological quality and will quality.The current social environment is emphasis on adolescent academic education,lack of concern for the cultivation of self-confidence.On the one hand,the school examination education seeks the higher education rate and does not have the leisure to carry on the mental health education to the students;on the other hand,the young individual lacks the consciousness of creating the healthy personality actively and lacks the ability to cultivate self-confidence.Lack of self-confidence restricts individual development to some extent,and brings negative effects to individual growth.The research is focused on the application of group motivation theory,the eight stage theory of personality development,and the mirror I theory to the group work from the perspective of social work,focusing on the interaction between young and peer groups,paying attention to the promotion of their own ability and improving the self-confidence of young people through group activities.The research method,using the method of case analysis and empirical study,according to the factors of self confidence and weight design group activities,not only improves the self-confidence of the team members,but also improves their social ability,which is in line with the professional thought of "empowerment and increase energy" in social work.Taking the X school in Suzhou as an example,this paper makes a questionnaire survey on the self-confidence of Freshmen in X school,and analyzes the status of self-confidence of Freshmen with the method of interview.The eight stage theory based on small group motive theory and personality development is based on the lack of self-confidence of the freshmen in the school.As well as the professional theory in the mirror,I adopt the group work method to intervene in the less confident group,improve the self-confidence of the new students through six groups of group activities,and promote the promotion of self display ability and social communication ability,and help the freshmen to adapt to the college life.The paper uses social work theory and method to intervene the self confidence group to achieve the goal of self confidence.While improving the school's attention to the mental health of the students,it has enhanced the students' consciousness of shaping healthy personality and stimulating individual potential,and promoted the healthy development of individual mental health.The development of papers enriches the theory and practice experience of social work and widens the field of social work.
