The "Compulsory Education Music Curriculum Standards" formulated by the Ministry of Education in 2011 has traditionally been called "New Curriculum Standard " by academic circles. To some extent, with the continuous deepening of education and teaching reform, the"New Curriculum Standard" has been integrated into the new concept and new ideas of music quality education, further clarifying the nature of the music curriculum in primary and secondary schools, that is,humanity, aesthetics and creativity. At the same time, the basic concept of the curriculum has been given a new era connotation, namely, emotions, attitudes, values, processes and methods, knowledge and skills. All of these new concepts and ideas not only laid a theoretical foundation for the implementation of the music curriculum in the compulsory education stage, but also put forward new requirements and innovative thinking on the evaluation of music teaching in primary and secondary schools. In the past, the evaluation of music teaching in primary and secondary schools was mainly focused on the knowledge and skills evaluation of the curriculum in terms of content. In terms of form, the main concern was summative evaluation, often neglecting the humanistic and aesthetic aspects,as well as other related content about emotions, attitudes and values.Furthermore, the forms and methods of evaluation are relatively single, which lack attention to various "external factors" such as schools, families, and society. So it is difficult to play a proper role in promoting the music teaching reform in primary and secondary schools and improving human aesthetic quality and the full implementation of the talent development strategy.Under the guidance of the connotation principles of curriculum nature, curriculum basic concepts, curriculum objectives and so on proposed by the "New Curriculum Standard",this thesis has conducted preliminary research on the evaluation of music teaching in primary and secondary schools and put forward some new ideas and methods.First of all, through the analysis of the traditional evaluation methods of music teaching in primary and secondary schools, new viewpoints have been proposed on the evaluation content, such as theoretical and practice evaluation, and new concepts involved direct evaluation and indirect evaluation have been proposed in the form of evaluation. On this basis, combining the examples of music curriculum in primary and secondary schools, the main contents of the evaluation of theoretical links and evaluation of practical links,as well as basic forms, principles and methods, are systematically elaborated.Secondly, while emphasizing direct evaluation(ie,teacher and student evaluation),it not only proposed the concept of "indirect evaluation",but also clearly defined its connotation. It is believed that schools, families, and society are also the main factors affecting music teaching in primary and secondary schools. So it is emphasized as an indirect evaluation.Thirdly,on the basis of a more systematic demonstration of the purpose and significance of music teaching evaluation in primary and secondary schools, the main drawbacks and blind spots of traditional music teaching evaluation were analyzed, whose limitations and deficiencies were pointed out.Based on this, the teaching of music in primary and secondary schools was elaborated in terms of the construction of evaluation system, the importance and forward-looking of innovation and development.
