Education for International Understanding aims to cultivate the ability of people of living on a globalized society by education,promoting the understanding and the harmonious coexistence among different countries,nationalities,regions or cultures.After the World War II,all countries in the world have been severely injured in politics and economy.People all over the world were anxious to live a peaceful and stable life.UNESCO presented the concept of educational for international understanding in 1946.With the increasing trend of globalization,this concept has gradually became the focus of educational reform in various countries.In order to adapt to the changes of the times,Britain has gradually attached importance to the development of education for international understanding.With the introduction of a series of related policies and guidance documents,the curriculum of education for international understanding has been widely implemented in British primary and secondary schools.The purpose of this paper is to explore the development and characteristics of the curriculum for education for international understanding in British primary and secondary schools,and sum up its useful experience by using the methods of literature analysis,historical research,comparative study and so on.In view of the practical problems in the course of education for international understanding in Chinese primary and secondary schools,we provided feasible suggestions for the construction of the curriculum of education for international understanding in China.The main body of the full text consists of the following five parts:firstly,the background of education for international understanding in British primary and secondary schools is traced back to.Besides,the development context is also introduced,especially the development since twenty-first century,which is described in more detail;secondly,we explored the theoretical basis of implementing education for international understanding curriculum in British primary and secondary schools,and made in-depth analysis of British policy documents related to education for international understanding curriculum;thirdly,we expounded the current situation of the implementation of education for international understanding curriculum in British primary and secondary schools,and analyzed the implementation of education for international understanding curriculum in British primary and secondary schools through actual cases;then,on the basis of a wide range of typical cases,the principles and methods of the evaluation of the curriculum for education for international understanding in primary and secondary schools in the UK are deeply explored;finally,it summarizes the characteristics and problems of education for international understanding curriculum in British primary and secondary schools,compares and analyzes the implementation status and problems of education for international understanding curriculum in Chinese primary and secondary schools,and draws the inspiration of Britain to China.
