Since the twenty-first Century,the world has gradually developed into a knowledge-based economy with a distinctive feature of innovation.The development of science and technology and independent innovation have been paid more and more attention.The demand for talents in science and technology and engineering has also increased gradually.The STEM Education launched in the United States has aroused the attention and influence of the whole sphere.To enhance competitiveness,the trend of basic education reform swept the globe.The key to the promotion of global competitiveness is talent.The goal of STEM education is to cultivate innovative,complex and practical high level talents with STEM literacy.In recent years,the progressive development of learning has become a hot issue in the field of science education.The international scientific and educational circles pay attention to and approve the value of learning advanced.It is considered as a bridge between practical teaching and theoretical research and evaluation of interaction.It is called to "ensure the coordination of curriculum,teaching and evaluation." Effective tools.By using the method of literature research and text analysis,this paper introduces the research status of STEM education and learning advanced in K-5 stage at home and abroad,develops the development course of STEM education and studies the connotation and theoretical basis of learning advanced,and analyzes the educational objectives,curriculum setting and educational evaluation of STEM education in the K-5 stage of the United States.In addition to the "carbon transformation" learning approach and the "children's science and Technology University" project of Virginia Tech as a case to illustrate the advanced nature of STEM education in the United States.Through research and analysis,it is found that:1.STEM education is based on project learning.The educational standards,curriculum setting and educational evaluation methods of STEM education in the K-5 phase of the United States are gradual and progressive in the longitudinal direction.2.the learning time span of learning is longer,and most of them belong to longitudinal research(such as "carbon conversion" learning and advanced research for 8 years).In a long period of time,continuous research on a topic has a perfect research process and complete research results.
