Picture books which is recognized all over the world is one of the literary readings that are suitable for preschool children and pupils especially for lower-grade pupils in primary schools.Their unique value and characteristics of graphic relations have enormously aroused students' reading interest and brought about a vast improvement in reading ability.Throughout the study at home and abroad,it is found that there are few studies on the application of picture books of the oral and written expression ability of lower levels of primary schools.This paper aims to explore how to make full use of picture book teaching to improve the lower-grade pupils'expressive ability in primary schools by combining the unique value of the picture books,the characteristics of students' physical and mental development and the students' reading interest and reading status,so as to promote the application of picture books for the vast number of front-line teachers to improve the students'expressive ability.This paper is divided into four parts.The introduction part includes questions,relevant concepts,domestic and foreign research,the significance of the research,research methods and so on.The first chapter mainly describes the status of lower-grade pupils' reading and expression ability through questionnaires and analyzes the causes of related problems.The second chapter starts with the difference and connection between the picture book teaching of lower levels of primary schools and kindergartens,and explains the value pursuit and goal orientation of the picture book teaching of lower levels of primary schools,mainly from the unique value of the picture books in the training of lower-grade pupils' expression ability in primary schools,the principles that should be followed and goals and demands for the cultivation of students' expressive ability in the picture book teaching of the lower-grades of primary schools.The third chapter mainly discusses the specific strategies of the picture book teaching pointing to the training of the students'expressive ability in the lower-grades of primary schools,mainly from the choices of the picture books,deepening the students' understanding of picture books,and fully excavating the picture and text resources of the picture books.Finally,it looks forward to the research of the picture book teaching in order to promote the improvement of students' expressive ability.
