Zeng Guofan has made a great influence on China's modern history.The judgments about Zeng Guofan are accompanied by different comments,both positive and negative through hundreds of years.But there is no denying that he has indeed merits beyond the normal range.In recent years,his educational thought has got more and more attention.He attaches great importance to the education and the training of young talents.His educational thought has rich connotation,which relates to morality,study,practice and so on.Under the new situation,the contemporary history teaching in middle school has made great breakthrough in though,methodology and so on.But there are still shortages.We can seek guidance in the thought of the predecessor to serve the current;therefore,the education thought of Zeng Guofan has certain practical significances.Combined with the status quo of the contemporary middle school history education teaching,this paper interprets Zeng Guofan's educational thoughts,and find out the reference points of Zeng Guofan's educational thoughts on contemporary middle school history teaching.This article is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,which introduces the significance of the topic,the research status,the research methods and the feasibility of the research.There are plenty current researches about Zeng Guofan's education thought,which provides a certain research foundation for the author.There are few researches on the combination of the education thought of Zeng Guofan and the contemporary history teaching of middle school,which leaves research space for the author.The second part is about the origins and main contents of Zeng Guofan's educational thoughts.The origin of the education thought of Zeng Guofan is mainly the traditional culture,the family tradition and the historical background.This paper summarized the educational thoughts of Zeng Guofan into three aspects:morality,study and practice,which can be combined with the specific situation of contemporary middle school history teaching.The third part is about the enlightenment of Zeng Guofan's educational thought to contemporary history teachers in middle school with regard to the issues of professional ability and educational idea.Take Zeng Guofan's educational thought as the guidance,teachers should update their educational philosophy,improve their political literacy,enhance their professional ability,unity knowledge and action and set oneself up as the example.The fourth part is about the enlightenment of Zeng Guofan's educational thought on contemporary middle school students' history learning.They think little of it,they don't know how to learn it and pretend to learn.Guided by Zeng Guofan's educational thought,middle school students should combine the history learning with the will and persist in learning.They should cooperate,persist and be practicable while learning history.Ambitions and details should be combined while learning history.The fifth part is the enlightenment of Zeng Guofan's educational thought on contemporary education.Guided by Zeng Guofan's educational thought,moral education should be emphasized in contemporary education.Middle school students should have a proper position,guard against arrogance and pay attention to thrifty education.The sixth part is the conclusion.Zeng Guofan's rich educational thoughts make a great difference to some problems of contemporary education and middle school history teaching.The contemporary value of Zeng Guofan's educational thought still worth further research.
