Mathematics education undertakes the task of enlightening students' mathematical thinking method,and mathematical language is the carrier of mathematical thinking.Teachers and students use the mathematical language to express the thinking process to achieve interaction in class.The students' mathematical language expression ability influences the teaching process and effectiveness.In the long run,students' good mathematical language expression ability will improve their mathematical literacy.Mathematics education in Elementary School is the basic stage of mathematics education,students' mathematical language expression ability should be cultivated strategically in this stage.However,in practice,teachers have some deficiencies in the training of students ' mathematical language expression ability and there are some obstacles in the use of mathematical language for high-level graders in primary school.This phenomenon requires sufficient attention.In order to improve the mathematical language expression ability of high-level graders in primary school,the author has carried on a series of investigation on the mathematical language expression ability of high-level graders in the primary school and discussed it in detail.The thesis is mainly divided into the following parts:The first part is the introduction.This part discusses the cause and significance of the study.This part analyses the current situation and development trend of the mathematical language expression ability at home and abroad.Besides this part expounds the research ideas and methods of this study.In the second part,an outline of the mathematical language expression ability of primary school students.The author expounds three concepts: mathematical language,mathematical language ability and mathematical language expression ability,and puts forward the significance of cultivating pupils' mathematical language expression ability.The third part discusses the current situation of high-level graders' mathematical language expression ability.Through observation,questionnaire survey,paper test,text analysis and interview,the author conducts a practical investigation and research on the primary school in which the author belongs.In this part,the purpose,object,design,implementation and results of the investigation are discussed in detail.The fourth part expounds the problems and reasons of high-level graders' mathematical language expression ability on the basis of the present investigation.The main problems are as follows: the difference of individual expression level is obvious,the accuracy of expression is not high,the rigor of expression is insufficient,and the clarity of expression is weak.The authoranalyzes the reasons of two aspects of students and teachers,students' reasons: the differences of individual personality,the lack of attention,the deviation of self-recognition,fear of difficulty,the limited ability of mathematical language and the limited thinking level.Teachers' reasons: the lack of understanding of mathematical language expression ability,the formalization of the training strategy and the lack of teacher's demonstration.In the fifth part,aiming at the problems of students ' mathematical language expression ability,the author puts forward the effective strategies and measures for cultivating pupils' mathematical language expression ability: create an atmosphere to promote communication,teachers should demonstrate their models of expression to constructing expression paradigm,learning language to enrich language systems,pay attention to enlightenment and strengthen training of expression,feedback in time to improve the expression of cognition.
