| Tao Xingzhi is a great educator,education thinker and educational practitioner in Chinese modern history.His educational thought is profound and far-reaching,promoting the transformation and updating of Chinese traditional education.As the leader of Chinese educational reform,Tao Xingzhi’s educational ethics,being widespread concern in academic circles,have brought a lot of inspiration and reflection to contemporary education and achieved fruitful results.Thus,it is still of great value for us to further study Tao Xingzhi’s educational ethic thoughts,not only for its academic value,but also for outstanding practical significance.Based on Tao Xingzhi’s life and historical background,this paper systematically analyzes the essence of Tao’s educational ethic thoughts by tracing its origins and explores its specific value to guide the development of modern education.The study found that Tao Xingzhi’s educational ethics thoughts formed under the influence of both Chinese and western advanced educational theories.His thoughts includes the principles of value--"fairness","seeking truth","pursuit of goodness" and"upwardness",the practical principles--"respecting students","teaching students in accordance with their aptitudes","combining morality and wisdom",and "combining knowledge with practice",as well as the construction of teachers’moral norms.These contents are linked in nature,and clearly show Tao Xingzhi’s educational ethics.It expresses Tao,s high expectation for people’s own value,social requirements,and the combination of knowledge and practice.It has a strong reference for guiding contemporary education reform and development. |
