Research On The Influencing Factors And Improvement Countermeasures Of The Employment Quality Of Graduates In Higher Vocational College

Employment is pivotal to people's wellbeing.We must give high priority to employment and pursue a proactive policy,striving to achieve fuller employment and create better quality jobs.The employment quality of college students is not only the problem faced by students and their families but also a matter related to school development.It can also affect social harmony and stability as it were in some sense.Compared with universities,the vocational colleges on the one hand has many deficiencies in many aspects,such as the conditions of running schools,the teaching staff,the quality of talent developing and the social recognition.On the other hand,the graduates at higher vocational colleges own outdated employment concepts and their professional quality is poor.And people has only concerned about the number of graduates at higher vocational colleges instead of the quality of their employment for a long time.It led to the high employment rate of graduates at higher vocational colleges and the low quality of employment.Therefore,how to improve the employment quality of graduates at higher vocational colleges has become an important strategic task and important wellbeing issue.Taking an example of Y higher vocational college,this paper conducted a systematic survey on the employment quality of 235 Y college graduates from 2015 and 2016.The result shows that the employment quality of graduates at Y higher vocational college is not high.Based on the survey data,I found that many graduates at Y higher vocational college took up a job which didn't match their majors,they got low salary and enjoyed poor social security benefits,and they had a low level of job satisfaction.It is also found that there are many factors influencing the employment quality of graduates at Y higher vocational college,students' personal,vocational colleges,employers and government policies,etc.Based on the above research,this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the employment quality of higher vocational college graduates from four aspects: government,school,employers and students themselves.It is expected to provide reference for the improvement of the employment quality of graduates in other higher vocational colleges.
