If a nation must survive,its society must advance,its economy must develop.Then the country can be prosperous and strong.To achieve that goal,every essential individual of the country needs to be developed in as full aspects as possible.Many international research projects have sprung up.For example,American scientists have developed a "bionic eye" to help blind people to restore their vision.The world's first quantum computer was born in Canada.Japan developed anti-snoring seats to improve driving safety.China's Shenzhou 11 manned spacecraft returned to land after 33 days of space flight.And the driverless cars have been deployed.All of those facts are telling people that the advanced technology is dominating the world and we need to pace up to world class so as not to be behind.21st century is the era of the explosion of knowledge and information.Among the sea of knowledge and information with massive innovation waves in different fields,the society and education councils start to think how to manage and surf on the waves proactively,rapidly and steadily."Core Competency" is the key index and objective for the new era.Compared with"traditional education",it is more formal,more comprehensive and more scalable and provides new standards for future curriculum revision,curriculum construction,classroom design,and student evaluation.The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that it is necessary to "deepen education reform and comprehensively implement quality education." In 2017,the party's 19th National Congress report comprehensively focused on"prioritizing the development of education" and clearly stated that "Education is the infrastructure to the rejuvenation of our nation.We must give priority to education and accelerate education modernization that can satisfy the society." Thus,education is the key of the nation and core competency development is the key of education.In recent years,the voice of core competency has become more and more high.It refers to the preliminary quality and key capability that students should obtain to support their lifelong development and our social revolution.The realization of the core competency development requires not only a reform to classroom contents and teaching mode to the education staff,but also involves new learning styles.It should be reflected in various disciplines and curriculums.High school Information Technology class should be the key to core competency development when students are in golden age of free thoughts and imagination for innovation.However,status quo of high school information technology education is not satisfying because it's not counted in the national college entry test and IT courses have not obtained enough attention from students in high schools and the IT class time is quite insufficient and mono-directional.Therefore,there is a demand for teachers to improve classroom efficiency and students to change their learning mindset and method to achieve spiral development and growth.This article aims at developing core competency contents on Information and Technology classes and seeks for a combination of core competency development and new model of Information and Technology teaching in high schools.Core Competency Development based high-school IT Teaching refers to introducing to traditional "IT class" the advanced core competency development theory and methodology and new platforms such as Lanstar and MosoTeach online education,to provide access to students to self-develop from all aspects of knowledge,skillsets,psychology,attitudes,value construction,etc.while teachers transfer from teaching role more to coaching role to students.Core Competency Development based high-school IT Teaching has three characteristic:a)let students manage more and teachers provide coaching as necessary,b)contents of teaching is based on what's to be learned,and c)student learn before coming to class.This article has adopted the comparison test before and after using new platforms like Lanstar.Researches are based on literature reference,observation methodology,behavior study,and the questionnaire,etc.There are six sections:Section ? introduces the background,objective and contents of the subject under research.Section ? explains related theories and methodologies for new model of high school information and technology classes,including humanistic learning theory,comprehensive harmonious development theory,nearest Development Zone theory,optimal teaching theory,constructivist learning theory,etc.Section ? explores model researches of core competency based high-school information technology teaching from new class designs,to case study,and implementation,by referring to platforms like Lanstar etc.Section IV is researches of teaching practice of core competency based high-school information technology teaching.The new teaching mode is explored from "Web Hyperlink","Data Processing and Statistics" and "Algorithm Design" and the implementation is monitored through the process.Section V provides comparison results after the implementation,including students'feedback,test results,self-learning ability and overall capability development,as well as teachers' teaching effect,professionalism and scientific research ability.Section ? renders summary conclusions,reflections and further expectations and improvements in the new model of core competency based high-school information technology teaching.
