Mathematics curriculum standard of compulsory education(2011 Edition)points out that the compulsory education stage of mathematics curriculum is a basic course to cultivate the quality of citizens,with a basic,universal and developmental,but also pointed out that:should pay attention to oral calculation,strengthen the estimation,advocate algorithm diversification.Oral arithmetic is an important mathematics skill for primary school students to grasp in mathematics study.Doing oral arithmetic skillfully is one of the key teaching goals in primary school mathematics teaching and it poses great significance to the development of students'operational abilities.Based on the existing research results home and abroad,with the students and teachers in the lower-grades in primary school being the objects of the survey,this essay comprehensively analyzes the current situation of the oral arithmetic teaching in the lower-grades in primary school,finds out the problems in the oral arithmetic teaching process and analyzes the reasons for these problems,thus,aiming to put forward some practical teaching strategies.The methods used in the research work for this essay are questionnaires,interviewing,classroom observation and data collecting.According to the survey,the writer finds that there are some general problems with the oral arithmetic teaching in the lower-grades,which are mainly reflected in the following aspects.First of all,students don' t show a great interest in oral arithmetic and are not quite aware of the meaning of algorithm.In addition,teachers' teaching methods are too simple,traditional and out-of-date and the teachers put too much emphasis on the results of the oral arithmetic,but ignore the process of thinking.By analyzing these problems,the writer figures out the main reasons as follows.Firstly,there is a great lack of fun in the teaching contents and it isn' t closely related to the students' daily life.Secondly,the teachers themselves don't have a deep understanding of the teaching materials and then form a biased teaching philosophy.Thirdly,some teachers even think less of the function of the teaching evaluation.Based on these,the writers put forwards some relevant strategies for improvement.At first,teachers should choose some teaching contents closely-related to the students' daily life to inspire their interests in oral arithmetic.Then,proper teaching method should be employed to improve students' ability of oral arithmetic.Also,the teachers can make full use of the multi-media to enrich their teaching means.Lastly,the teaching evaluation should be improved to make it better-directed and more instructive.
