Classic Chinese,as a part of Chinese education in the senior school,is an indispensable part of outstanding Chinese culture,and it stands as the essence of traditional culture due to its abundant cultural connotation and unique power of expression.Therefore,to have a good command of classic Chinese cannot only allow students to stand out in the Entrance Examination but the essence of our excellent traditional culture shown in the articles written by classic Chinese can make them to be reasonable and grasp opportunity,thus giving them lifelong benefits;in terms of teaching materials,classic Chinese accounts for a large proportions in teaching materials,so it has drawn great attention from both teachers and students.However,the status quo of its reading is not so satisfactory.Enlightened from the reading literature about evaluation teaching method,the writer works to apply it into the teaching of reading classic Chinese in the senior school so as to improve the teaching situation of reading classic Chinese in the senior school.The paper makes research from four perspectives.Chapter One illustrates the state and role of evaluation teaching method in the teaching of reading classic Chinese in the senior school,including reviewing the evaluation teaching method,identifying the relationship and difference of the evaluation of classic Chinese and modern Chinese articles,and explaining the merits of evaluation teaching method in the teaching of reading classic Chinese.Chapter Two analyzes the status quo of teaching of reading classic Chinese in the senior school based on the data of survey and record of classes.Lack of effective instruction method is the major problem in the teaching of reading classic Chinese in the high school,which means,it focuses on translation rather than understanding;with inadequate input into emotion;over-emphasizing on the result of teaching;ignoring the assessment on evaluation.In the third chapter,application strategies have been put forward to the evaluation teaching method targeted to problems existing in the teaching of reading classic Chinese.It suggests to set out teaching from each character and master techniques;to understand through reading(evaluation)and to enhance emotional experience;to activate sense organs and stimulate feelings to expand the face of evaluation in discovery;and to focus on evaluation and conclusion.The use of evaluation teaching method should prioritize to cultivate students and respect students,working to realize “triple integration” and paying attention to “three problems”.The last chapter applies the evaluation teaching method into practical teaching.The case is the teaching of the article Zhu Zhiwu Repelled the Army of Qin.In the process of teaching,the teacher communicated with students in equal and harmonous relationship,and it has achieved a good result from the view of the students.The problems in the teaching of reading classic Chinese in the senior school,evaluation teaching method can be used to improve,so as to provide a reference for students to teach reading.Despite its merits,there are still some shortages,and it still needs further study on the students adaptable to such teaching method due to the individual differences among students in the senior school.
