The ancient poetry being selected into the Chinese textbooks for primary school has a long history.As the unique style of literature of Chinese nation,the ancient poetry has a unique artistic charm and rich cultural heritage,plays a decisive role in developing students' Chinese accomplishment of primary and middle school.Chinese teaching material is an important medium for spreading ancient poetry culture,and is valuable educational resource in Chinese textbooks for primary school.This paper is based on the textbook of compulsory education published by the Ministry of Education(7-8 Grade),using the literature research method,data statistics and other research methods to analyze the characteristics of the selections of the ancient poetry in the Chinese textbooks for middle school from two aspects: selection and arrangement.And by comparing with the selection of ancient poetry in PEP Chinese textbooks,this paper attempts to explore the characteristics of the selection of ancient poetry in Chinese textbooks of compulsory education published by the Ministry of Education.At the same time,I will give my own advice about the needs to be improved of the selections of the ancient poetry in Chinese textbooks of compulsory education published by the Ministry of Education for middle school.And I hope to make efforts to improve the level of the selections of the ancient poetry in Chinese textbooks of compulsory education published by the Ministry of Education for middle school and give advice to Chinese teachers.After analysis,it is found that the system of the ancient Chinese poetry of the Chinese textbooks for middle school has a certain advantage in quantity,which conforms to the requirements of the new course standard,and the selected subjects and genres are more extensive,and the arran7 gement mode and distribution are also comparatively scientific.But the compilation time concentrates on the Tang and Song Dynasties,and the number of poems accounts for the vast majority.In view of these situations,I will make suggestions on the selection and arrangement of ancient poetry.During the inquiry process,it is found that the instruction of reciting ancient poetry and lyrics is weak in the process of teaching.Ancient poetry need to be read repeatedly by students.So I put forward two suggestions for reading instruction,which is also the innovation of this paper.
