In recent years,the results of investigation and monitoring of students'physical health in China show that students' physical fitness and health status continue to decline.Although the causes of this phenomenon are various,school physical education bears an inescapable responsibility for it.As an important part of school physical education,the large-class activities have not played their due role due to the limitation of traditional educational ideas and activities time.By using the methods of documentation,questionnaire,case analysis and mathematical statistics,this study takes the current situation of Large-Break sports activities in primary schools in Wuhan as the research object,and chooses 34 primary schools in Hanyang District,Wu chang District,Qiao kou District and High-tech Park of Wuhan City as the research object.The characteristics of Large-Break sports activities in primary schools in urban areas of Wuhan City and the participation of pupils in big-break sports activities in primary schools are analyzed.The attitude,frequency,venue,equipment and time of recreational sports activities were investigated.Taking the recreational sports activities of Dongfanghong Primary School in Wuhan as an example,the conclusions were as follows:1.The enthusiasm of junior pupils to participate in Large-Break sports activities in Wuhan city is higher,while the awareness of senior pupils to physical exercise is slightly lower,which indicates that the group of junior pupils is active and active.At the same time,it indicates that the organizational mode of Large-Break sports activities needs to be further strengthened.2.The purpose of participating in Large-Break sports activities for pupils in urban areas of Wuhan is mainly to prevent myopia,increase sports activities and associate with their classmates.It shows that pupils participating in Large-Break sports activities can not only improve their health,but also promote their associations with classmates and friendship.3.The factors of pupils'participation in Large-Break physical exercise in Wuhan city mainly include physical education,sports news programs and the influence of family members.It shows that the influence of physical environment on pupils'participation in physical exercise is very important.Therefore,schools and families should create relevant conditions for pupils to participate in physical exercise.4.The primary school students in Wu han city choose bare-handed exercises as the main content of physical exercises,including games,dances,gymnastics,various climbing events.Football,basketball,volleyball and other ball activities are usually used as supplementary forms of exercise,indicating that the content of physical activities for primary school students in large breaks needs to be enriched and expanded.5.The arrangement of the time and content of the physical education activities in the big break of primary schools in Wuhan city is reasonable,but there are some shortcomings in the field and equipment caused by objective reasons,which need schools and physical education teachers to overcome the difficulties by adopting flexible and diverse organizational forms to solve.6.The practice of Large-Break sports activities in Dong fang hong Primary School in Wuhan proves that physical exercise can promote the development of pupils'intelligence(thinking agility,calculating power and short-term memory)and improve their academic performance.It also proves that Large-Break sports activities can promote students' physical and mental development.
