Since the establishment of the People's Republic of China on October 1st,1949,China's ethnic education has shown a vigorous development trend and has made great achievements in the process of continuous development especially after China carried out the reform and opening up policy.The so-called"minority education" in the current academic circles was actually put forward after 1949,dating back to the period of the Republic of China,it can be said that it was developed by the early "frontier education".Obviously,we have to study the education of ethnic minorities,should first understand the frontier education during the period of the Republic of China.This paper is based on this perspective,gaving a bibliometric analysis on the border education since the Republic of China.The use of bibliometrics methods and knowledge map visualization software intuitively presented the border education research content,research hotspot,regional perspective and so on since the Republic of China.Through the study,the author can find the contribution and limitations of frontier education research since the Republic of China;understand the identity and occupation of the author of the frontier education research and the way of their research results,whether they are works,papers,newspapers or government documents?Are the literatures both academic,argumentative,or policy-oriented?Through the analysis of their literature,we can know the focus and characteristics of the frontier education research since the Republic of China.The paper contains the introduction and the four chapters.In the first part,it first explains the purpose and significance of the topic and the study.Secondly,the conceptual definition of the core vocabulary is given respectively.The research methods of this paper are described.Finally,the literature review section,related literatures were reviewed.The first chapter and the second chapter respectively analyze the literature of the frontier education from 1912 to 1949 and the literature of the frontier education from 1949 to 2017 from the collection and collation of the literature,the statistical analysis of the basic situation of the literature,the author's statistical analysis,the study of ethnic and regional statistical analysis,and the statistical analysis of the research contents.The third chapter is the analysis of the characteristics of frontier education research between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China.It is a comparative study based on the contents of the previous two chapters.The fourth chapter gives a profound reflection and a view to the development of China's ethnic minority education from several aspects of the current education of ethnic minorities in China,mainly based on the contents of the previous three chapters,trying to provide some reference and recommendations.It is believed that this study will also provide some literature guidance to researchers who are concerned and keen on frontier education research,believing that it will be helpful.
